Unglue your eyes from the Gap x A.P.C. joints you were ogling, folks: there's a formidable Levi's jeans sale going down on Amazon right now. We've clocked the brand's habit of discounting its legendary 501 silhouette in Prime Day(s) past, but on this very special October version of Amazon's tentpole shopping event—bewilderingly dubbed “Prime Big Deal Days”—Levi's is upping the ante. Sure, the 501 is at an expectedly low price, but the arcuate-stitched denim on sale also includes the relaxed-straight 555 (a sleeper hit among the real 'heads), the Slimane-adjacent 502, and a couple of chinos, for good measure. Exciting stuff, to say the least.
Look, we love a pair of OrSlows as much as the next guy waiting 45 minutes for a table at the wine bar. But nothing quite hits like the 501—or, for that matter, the various Levi's numbers its since inspired. “Sometimes, the easy, obvious answer just so happens to be the right one,” GQ's resident denimhead Gerald Ortiz points out, and Levi's is still the Occam's razor of the denim world. (If you've pulled on a pair of 555s or 568s recently, you're well aware that the OG dungarees hold up.)
So to prove him right, here's a rundown of every silhouette we're eyeing from the Levi's jeans sale catalyzed by Amazon's latest two-day bonanza.

The 501
The big daddy, nay, granddaddy, of denim, the 501 was first introduced in 1890 so that wranglers could avoid the chafing pitfalls of horsehair and desert brush. More than 130 years later and they've tangled with all manner of Hollywood heartthrobs, from Steve McQueen to Kurt Cobain, to become the most instantly recognizable silhouette in denim. While denim diehards may lament the brand's departure from the use of shuttle looms, they still know that for the buck, the bang is up there. The 501 is the silhouette on which so many others have been modeled, and the 100% cotton version—currently on sale for Prime Day—still hits all these decades later.
The 501 Shrink-to-Fit
For the denim obsessive, the 501 Shrink-to-Fit is where things start to get interesting. Cut from rigid denim that's designed to shrink and mold itself to your body over time, it's the closest thing Levi's offers to a participation sport. The process requires a little patience—and perhaps a bathtub—but the payoff is a pair of jeans that feels uniquely yours. They're still classic 501s, just a little more personalized to you than the standard issue.
The 502
The 502 Taper, which is also hovering around 40 bucks on Amazon this week, is the perfect substitute for the man who still mourns his skinny jeans. As the name suggests, it takes a slightly narrower journey from knee to ankle, tapering off to a slim silhouette as it reaches the shoe, making for a lovely vintage combo with a pair of leather boots. Crucially, though, it doesn't cling to the thigh, which anyone over the age of 25 can (and should) appreciate.
The 541
The 541 Athletic sits somewhere between a straight leg and a taper, making it a great option if you happen to be more muscular through the thighs. With a little more room in the seat and quads, it finishes with a neat full stop of a taper at the ankle, similar to the one made by the 502.
The 555
The relaxed fit offered up by the 555 is roomier than a straight fit but not as loosey-goosey as a truly baggy pair, making it perfect for someone who wants to embrace the wide-leg vibes of the times without looking like they were waiting in line for a Labubu in 2025.
The 578
The 578 runs contemporary hardware through discount software, putting forward the roomiest of Levi's cuts to wear with a T-shirt that crops at the waistline and a pair of canvas sneakers or some hikers, if you're feeling particularly outdoorsy. Where the 501 is a scoop of chocolate gelato, the 578 is pistachio: almost as popular, and having a moment.
The XX Chino
More of a chinos guy? Levi's excellent XX Chino has shown up in a classic straight fit, and it's an easy recommendation for anyone who prefers a dressier alternative to denim. Roomy where it counts and gently narrowed through the lower leg, it strikes a pleasing middle ground between a classic straight fit and something a little more tailored.
Amazon October Prime Day 2026 FAQ
What is Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days?
Amazon’s October Prime Day is the retailer’s follow-up to its big June shopping event, a two-day sale running October 6 through October 7. Different name, same basic concept: thousands of products across menswear, tech, grooming, home goods, kitchen gear, and just about every other category imaginable receive steep discounts. Like the original Prime Day, the October event is geared toward Prime members and has grown into a major fixture on the shopping calendar, with deals that can rival those you’ll see during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
What are the best menswear brands on Amazon?
Amazon’s fashion forte is firmly in affordable, everyday menswear. Think basics like underwear, tees, and socks as well as classic wardrobe staples like blue jeans and polos.
For your foundational basics, look for brands like Gildan, Calvin Klein, Russell Athletic, and Hanes. Amazon's shoe selection ain't too shabby, and you’ll find everything from Adidas sneakers to Red Wing boots to Allen Edmonds dress shoes. The watch selection is also a solid bet, with a starting lineup of labels like Casio, Times, and Seiko.
There are plenty of sunglasses on Amazon, from household names like Ray-Ban and Oakley to lesser known heaters like Chimi and Le Specs. And with more and more inventory from Shopbop (Amazon’s fashion-focused subsidiary) making its way onto the platform, Amazon’s menswear lineup is deeper than you’d expect.
How long do the deals last?
Amazon’s October Prime Day 2026 runs from October 6 through October 7, but that doesn't mean every deal is sticking around for both days. Some discounts will be available from start to finish, while others may last only a few hours.
That's why it's worth checking back regularly. Amazon refreshes deals throughout the event, adding new markdowns and limited-time offers across categories. But if you've been waiting for a specific product to go on sale and the price looks right, there's no guarantee it'll be there tomorrow.
Do you need to be a Prime member to shop Amazon Prime Day?
Yes, you must be an Amazon Prime member to access Prime Big Deal Day’s exclusive deals. If you’re not yet a member, you can sign up for a 30-day trial.
Word to the wise: If you’re not yet a Prime member, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial, which will give you access to the event. After Prime Big Deal Days, there’s nothing stopping you from canceling your membership.
Do other retailers participate in Prime Day?
Prime Day is an Amazon-exclusive affair. But plenty of other retailers like to ride the coattails with their own competing sales. We’ll keep you posted on the best ones happening at the same time.
