What GQ Editors Are Actually Buying On Amazon Prime Day 2026

Go ahead, be nosy. We would.

Like a family's freer-spirited second child, October Prime Day—Amazon's second major savings event of the year—inevitably sees your typically-sensible GQ Recommends staff getting a little wilder with their purchases. After all, with the first official day of discounts currently underway, we've got a lot of open browser tabs, and only limited abilities to resist temptation, especially when you can suddenly get almost 60% off some Calvin Klein 3-packs.

In other words: We're working. But let's not pretend we're not shopping, too. So in the interest of editorial transparency, my colleagues and I gathered the Prime Day deals we actually want for ourselves. These are the products we're happily spending our own money on—which, given how many deals we've sifted through over the past few days already, is about as strong an endorsement as you'll get.

Looking for more? If you’re trying to level up your wardrobe, our guide to the best Prime Day clothing deals is the move. Then head to our massive list of the best Prime Day deals for everything else worth scooping up.

What I'm Buying for Myself

Jacket on a flat background.

Alpha Industries

MA-1 Regular Fit Flight Jacket

The MA-1 is about as classic as any bomber jacket gets, and Alpha Industries makes one of the best versions around. And they’ve barely updated since way back when: cropped, ribbed trim, and nylon construction, all for a price that’s just too easy to lock down.

Hand Cream on a flat background.

Soft Services

Theraplush Fragrance-Free Overnight Retinol Repair Hand Cream

My delicate editor hands are no match for winter, and Soft Services is exactly the kind of fancy solution I usually have a hard time justifying. It’s loaded with the good stuff—including retinol, a minor miracle as far as I’m concerned, so a Prime Day discount is the excuse to have this handsome little container on my nightstand.

Gerald Ortiz, style commerce writer

Breville

BOV900BSS Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro, Brushed Stainless Steel

I don’t have the counter space to justify this end-game oven. There are, however, zero rules against using this on the floor.

Rice cooker on a flat background.

Zojirushi

3-Cup Compact Size

Owning a Zojirushi rice cooker has been a longtime dream of mine, as is anyone else who desires upward mobility. This, plus the Breville Smart Oven would make me complete.

Levi's

Sherpa Trucker Jacket

I’m partial towards vintage blanket-lined Lee Storm Rider jackets, but I see this as a worthwhile alternative once the temps dip in early fall.

Boxers on a flat background.

Calvin Klein

Classics 3-pack Woven Boxer

There’s never a bad time for an underwear re-up, especially when Calvin Klein is this discounted. But also, boxer-briefs have dominated my underwear drawer for years, offering what can only be described as stretchy, restrictive comfort. I want the billowy breathability of boxers back.

Carhartt

Iconic J01 Duck Detroit Jacket

I’ve been to enough thrift stores to know that these things never die. And given you’ll have it for decades, you may as well start with a new version in the exact right size for you.

Airtags on a flat background.

Apple

Airtag, 4-Pack

I recently interviewed a US Open tennis player, and the most interesting reveal of an otherwise tough hang was that he puts Airtags in all of his suitcases, so that if his luggage is ever lost, he can just tell the airline where it is. Now I will do the same.

Reed Nelson, contributing writer

T-shirts on a flat background.

Hanes

Beefy T-Shirt

I own more t-shirts than any one person should ever own and I wear roughly a quarter of those. I have expensive ones and vintage ones and ratty ones and even a few that would qualify as all three of those things, but the one t-shirt that has stayed in rotation for my entire adult life is the Hanes Beefy-T, which lasts forever, fits great and also happens to be cheaper than a Subway footlong right now.

Columbia

Watertight II Rain Jacket

There are plenty of arguments to be made in favor of the kinds of triple-layer raincoats that can withstand a literal shower (the kind with a curtain), but there’s also currently 54 arguments to be made for one that does the same job without any of the fuss.

Nothing

Noise Cancelling Over-Ear Headphones

I’ve lost more AirPods than I can count. These are big enough that I would never misplace them.

Alarm clock on a flat background.

Hatch

Sleep Clock

Sirens, garbage trucks, and one guy who revs his motorcycle under my window at 3 a.m. every single night. Hatch, please drown them all out.
