Fontaines D.C. drop latest single ‘Tongue’
Their newest single is the second release from upcoming fifth album ‘Dopamine Chamber’.

Fontaines D.C. have shared new single ‘Tongue’, the second track to be taken from their forthcoming fifth album ‘Dopamine Chamber’, due for release on 16th October via XL Recordings.
Following lead single ‘Marianne’, ‘Tongue’ sees the Dublin quintet lean further into more a expansive, near trip-hop sound. Conor Curley says the band continued where ‘Romance’ left off, while Conor Deegan created the track’s distinctive bass by manipulating tape speed and Carlos O’Connell processed Grian Chatten’s vocals through a sampler, giving them an eerie edge.
‘Dopamine Chamber’ follows 2024’s UK platinum-certified ‘Romance’ and features a collaboration with ROSALÍA on “Where Is Gone?”. Produced with James Ford across London, the English countryside and Palermo, the album sees Fontaines D.C. shifting away from the guitar-driven sound of their earlier records.
The band have also announced their biggest headline shows to date, including two nights at Slane Castle, Blackweir Fields in Cardiff, St James’ Park in Newcastle, two nights at Manchester’s Heaton Park, Glasgow Green and London Stadium in summer 2027.
