Ahead of his highly publicized return to the UK, a “heartbreaking” request that Prince Harry reportedly made to his late mother, Princess Diana, before she died has been revealed.

The revelation comes amid speculation that he could visit Diana’s family home with his children while in the country.

Meanwhile, new reports suggest Harry will no longer be staying at the royal accommodation offered by King Charles, believed to be Buckingham Palace, after the offer was reportedly “withdrawn.”

Prince Harry’s Emotional Request To Diana Revealed

Harry has always been open about the debilitating grief he suffered following his mother Diana’s death in a 1997 car crash in Paris.

Royal fans have long speculated that he was deeply affected by her passing, especially as he was only 12 years old at the time and shared an especially close bond with her.

Just how close they were has come back into focus following a newly resurfaced request he reportedly made to Diana before her death.

In the July 3 episode of the “Right Royal Podcast,” which focused on the late Princess of Wales, royal expert Ingrid Seward revealed that Diana likely would have remarried after her divorce from Charles, citing a touching conversation she once had with her.

Seward claimed Diana told her that Harry said he was “bored with being the youngest” and wanted her to have another child, per Hello! She recalled Diana telling him she would need to be married for that to happen.

“Well, hurry up then,” Harry allegedly replied.

The expert added that Diana considered the idea but was skeptical, doubting that anyone would want to be with her and believing she had “so much baggage.”

Diana’s Childhood Home Emerges As Harry Option

The revelation comes as speculation grows that Harry could visit Diana’s family estate during his imminent UK trip.

The Duke of Sussex is expected to arrive in Britain early this week for a series of charity engagements, along with an event marking the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

The Spencer family home, Althorp House, is located in Northamptonshire, roughly an hour from Birmingham, where the event will take place.

Reports suggest Harry could stay there and potentially give his children, Archie and Lilibet, a tour of the sprawling estate while paying a visit to Diana’s grave.

According to PEOPLE, the estate will be closed to visitors on July 10 and 11, around the time Harry is expected to wrap up his London engagements before attending the Invictus event.

“Harry longs to bring his children to the UK, to show them where he comes from and to introduce them to their heritage. And he wants to take them to Althorp, which is where Diana was raised and where she rests,” a source said, per the Daily Mail.

The prospect of Harry staying at Althorp House appears more likely after fresh reports claimed he will no longer be staying at the royal accommodation offered by King Charles, despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise.

According to the BBC, palace sources said Harry did not formally respond to the offer before last week’s deadline and was informed over the weekend that it was no longer available.

Buckingham Palace reportedly requires a minimum notice period to prepare for guests, including arranging accommodations, toiletries, and staff support.

The BBC also reported that concerns were raised about Harry staying on royal property while a ruling in his court case against Associated Newspapers is due on Tuesday, as doing so could potentially compromise the King’s constitutional position.

While Buckingham Palace maintained that Harry had delayed accepting the offer, a spokesperson for the Duke said they understood the accommodation had been “withdrawn,” despite their earlier announcement that Harry would be staying at the royal residence, and described the development as “disappointing.”

According to Sky News, Harry’s camp said the Duke had “spent last week making alternative security arrangements” following RAVEC’s decision to deny his request for police protection.

“Once those arrangements were in place, he was able to formally accept the offer of accommodation for himself over the weekend,” the spokesperson continued. “It is therefore disappointing that the offer has now been withdrawn, with Tuesday’s judgment in the Associated Newspapers Limited case cited as the reason.”

The representative added, “Buckingham Palace has, however, been aware of that judgment since last Thursday. It is therefore unclear why, having formally accepted the accommodation offer, it has now been withdrawn at the last moment.”

Harry is now expected to travel to the UK without his wife and children after his request for armed police protection was rejected.

There had been speculation that King Charles could finally reunite with his youngest grandchildren, who have not been on British soil since 2022 during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

However, the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Harry’s security arrangements and accommodation has cast fresh doubt on whether such a meeting will take place.

Even so, Meghan Markle, Archie, and Lilibet could still join Harry later this week, as multiple reports have not ruled out a possible family reunion with Charles.
