Almost the entire country is trapped under a heat dome right now, and that's essentially left us couch-bound this July 4th weekend. This is antithetical to our usual celebratory antics, and my fellow Americans are understandably flustered, but there's still a cause for celebration in the form of a cacophony of menswear deals, an entire smattering of sales, the kind that are underway right now for the 4th.
We’ve got entire collections from your favorite mall brands, extra sweeteners at independent multi-brands, expanded selections and discounts from the biggest names in e-comm, and more, all of it primed to improve your summer in a myriad ways. (And in some cases, temper the heat if you do decide to venture into the Great Sauna.) So, scroll on down to see what we’re sweating and then head on over to the various motherships to see the full breadth of discounts. Happy 4th, everyone, and happy shopping.
The 4th of July Clothing Deals Hit List
Abercrombie & Fitch
It wouldn’t be a sale window without a banger from Abercrombie, and they just so happened to have doubled their savings from their July 4th sale last year. So now, you can save yourself up to 40% off over 500 pieces this weekend, a ton of which is loose and breezy enough for even the toastiest of climates.
Alex Mill
Alex Mill only goes on sale a couple times a year, which means that when it hits, it hits. And lucky for you, it hit, which means you can save yourself between 40 and 60% on nearly their entire collection. So regardless of what clothing category you might be in need of, you’re in luck.
American Trench
You might know American Trench for their American-made, well-crafted, long-lasting socks, which are worth every second of attention they receive, but don’t sleep on the rest of their vintage-inspired, no-fuss line. And if you needed an excuse, dozens of pieces are up to 30% off for the weekend.
Banana Republic
Banana Republic has been on an absolute heater, especially when it comes to Clothes You Want to Wear in the Heat—think bouncy linens, retro-tinged knits, loose trousers, big shorts and—and for the weekend, you can take an extra 20% off anything already on sale, which includes over 250 pieces they just added. And considering pretty much the entire country is tropical at the moment, it couldn’t come at a better time. (Or at a better price.)
Bather
Bather makes what we consider to be the best pair of swim trunks on the market—in addition to a ton of other poolside-approved, summer-ready clothes you’d love to be wearing at this exact moment—and those trunks rarely go on sale en masse. But—BUT—the entire site is 20% off with the code SUMMER20 through the weekend, so now is the perfect time to score an upgrade.
Haven
Ok, the sale happening at Haven—they are Canadian, after all—isn’t technically a July 4th sale, but it is July 4th weekend and their summer sale is in full swing and they also happen to be one of the best multi-brand retailers in the world so they’re getting rounded up in the celebration. And they’re bringing the heat, too: brands like Auralee, Beams, Lemaire, Salomon, Stone Island, Uru and more are up to 50% off.
Huckberry
Huckberry’s sale section is always one of the better, more interesting sale sections to peruse, and it’s well-stocked at the moment with some hitter deals, but for the weekend, they’re also giving you 20% off select shorts when you buy two or more pairs.
J.Crew
J.Crew turned on the sale faucet. It would’ve been enough if they simply offered 40% off nearly 250 seasonal (re: summer) styles, which they are, but they’re also knocking an additional 60% off their entire sale inventory and hitting us with a (oddly timed but much appreciated) cashmere sale event, which will afford you up to 40% off some of the softest knits you can find.
Levi’s
Fun fact: Levi’s has been around for more than half the time the USA has, churning out A-1 jeans the entire time. Another fun fact? A ton of those jeans are up to 50% off at the moment, along with a whole smattering of their other top-tier menswear and premium sub-labels, like Blue Tab and LVC. (Don’t sleep on the shorts either, Levi’s shorts are sneaky-great.)
Lululemon
Lululemon’s Summer Sale has left no category un-discounted. That means if you’re looking for workout tees, do-it-all pants, running shorts or virtually anything else you want to wear comfortably while moving around (or lounging in), it’s probably on sale on the digital Lulu racks.
Mr Porter
Very few stores do designer goods like Mr Porter does designer goods, and even fewer host the kind of sale that Mr Porter hosts, a sale which is very much underway and now clocking in with discounts up to 60%, encompassing virtually every brand on their roster—from indie upstarts to menswear icons and everything in between.
Ralph Lauren
Ralph Lauren’s Summer Refresh event is ripping at the present, and that means that you can take an additional 30% off anything already present in the sale section—a section that includes all-time catalog styles, cheeky riffs and so much more. (Like actually so much more, nearly 400 pieces more.)
REI
For most of us, going outside is ill-advised at the moment, but the temperatures will abate and REI has some great stuff regardless of weather extremes and once you go outside you’ll be thrilled you planned ahead because REI’s July 4th Sale is giving you up to 50% off an insane amount of gear, apparel and more across the site, and then 60% off when you traverse over to the Outlet tab.
Reigning Champ
Reigning Champ is an undisputed beltholder in the knitwear category, but the rest of their crazy comfortable, hyper-practical line is just as formidable, and a ton of it is included in their Midsummer Sale, which knocks up to 50% the price off both perennial all-stars and seasonal favorites, through July 5.
Todd Snyder
Todd Snyder has adjusted its sale model and is now doing just two a year, which would be an adjustment for all of us if they didn’t just kick off one of those, which will knock up to 50% off the original price of an insane number of summer hits, wardrobe staples and more.
Vuori
Vuori makes some of the most comfortable and versatile workhorses you can find, and over 800 of those are currently on sale, with discounts of up to 50%—including a *ton* of their impossibly comfortable Kore Shorts.
More 4th of July Clothing Sales Worth Shopping
Adidas: From now until July 6, you can knock 30% off a ton of Adidas shoes, clothing and accessories—both in-season and in the sale section—with the code SAVE.
Alex Crane: Made entirely from natural fibers, Alex Crane’s clothing has fewer ingredients than most foods do, and from now through the weekend, you can take 20% of the whole site—including the famous all-linen Sun Tee.
Backcountry: One of the internet’s biggest—and best—outdoor retailers always shows out for the 4th, and this year is no exception: you can save up to 40% on thousands of trail (or lake or beach or park) ready pieces.
Corridor: If you’re not familiar with Corridor, there’s a good chance you’ve seen their stuff because celebrity stylists lean on their effortlessly cool knits and wovens with deserved consistency—and now you can too, because they just knocked 30% off most of their inventory for the weekend.
Mohawk General Store: Independent retailers are harder to come by these days, but Mohawk will remind you how good they can be—and things only get better when one of the sickest selections online has discounts of up to 50%.
Percival: Percival is leaving it all on the field this 4th—and yes, they are from the UK, we’re claiming the sale though—because the entire summer collection is on sale and those savings are approaching 60%.
SSENSE: The SSENSE sale is as deep and generous as ever, with discounts pushing 70% and a brand list that’s still hundreds of names long.
Canoe Club: There are few online shopping experiences we can recommend more highly than the one that Boulder, CO-based Canoe Club offers, and they recently added a whole ton of proper heaters to their vaunted sale tab, where you can save up to 50%
